Dream Poem 66: Art Nouveau Barbie Bike

I’ve got a Barbie bike.
I’m a student and live in a single room bedsit 
in a huge old Regency Hotel.
It’s very, very posh or was in its day.

The lift is a cage lift of the most ornate design,
black and gold metal work in the Art Nouveau style.
I’ve got a Barbie bike that I ride to university and back.
Other students ask to use it,
to share it with me
and I let them thinking,

“Well property is theft after all!”
